Mattilha released the single “Tempestade” last Thursday, the 23rd. The track is the first new song in over a year since the release of the EP Coração Anárquico and is accompanied by a visualizer produced by Canil Records and directed by Guilherme Kim .

The single marks a new phase for the São Paulo-based quartet, with an intimate songwriting process becoming  a very enriching experience for the band. "It was the first time we isolated ourselves from the world, took a weekend, and the whole band was together in one place with the sole objective of making music," comments drummer Ian Bueno .

This is the first work composed by the entire band together. In an increasingly complex and challenging world, Mattilha's music addresses the depths of feelings, experiences, and the highs and lows of life. “The lyrics of 'Tempestade' (Storm) have metaphorical language. We address that moment in life when we have to go through it alone. Only we know the pain we face, the seas we navigate, the storms,” says bassist Camilla Rodrigues . “So it's a moment of decision-making, where you decide to be the captain of your own ship, which is life. It ends up being very liberating to become aware that we can take the reins of our own lives.”

“Tempestade”  also stands out for its sound,  which differs from other releases. A true nostalgic gem, the song is full of references to the 80s and 90s, while maintaining the hard rock atmosphere already known from the band. With a more modern and heavier sensibility, it shows the evolution and maturity of Mattilha.
